I've read through all the last messages and also about the trip Tisgranny and Kidsnana made and I've had another winge, more tissues please.  What an emotional trip this is.

Whilst waiting for the Echo, I would like to make more enquiries as to his burial place, I would think that he must have a headstone.

I'm a little disappointed in the Gateacre Society who have not responded as I'd hoped they might have been able to tell me the most likely place that he was buried.  I've once again been in touch with the office at St Stephens and a message is being passed on to the archivist there, who is a very busy man so no guarantees as to whether he will get back to me with any information.

The lady in the office believed that Allerton Cemetery might have been the one and indeed as it was opened in 1909 it would certainly be appropriate for date.  There is a transcribed list of MI's on here  http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/allertoncemetery but I don't see his name.

I also tried Anfield as there are over 30,500 names transcribed on here http://liverpool-ancestors.co.uk/ but again without success.

That's not to say that either of these are the wrong places, just that they may not have been transcribed yet.

The last resort might be to pays our money and get them to do the search and give us the details.

Anybody got any friends in the Cemeteries Department ........  ::) ;D ;D

Good afternoon Michel,

No I can't, but I've booked a call back.  There is nowadays one central telephone number which accepts these enquiries, they are sent to where the central list is and they will contact me.

I cannot find John E in CWGC ..... so I'm wondering if we could track him and see if there is any descendents in that line ??

Annie, please change 1901 "Ormskirk" to "Orrell and Ford" so as not to confuse.

No problem.  Do a search at www.streetmap.co.uk and choose the one in L9, I suppose technically it must be on the border of Aintree and Litherland.

Well I've checked down the CWGC site and don't see him on there so presumably he was another survivor, although with a name like Richards he's not going to be an easy one.
