I know you went through all the marriages for Norah ...... Mary .....

Quote
Right I have a possible Nora M Stead who married George G Dobell December qtr 1926 Wirral 8a 846.  Wirral is definitely not too far away to be her and is the only Nora M in the vicinity at all.

CheshireBMD confirms that the name IS Nora May Stead who married George Galloway Dobell at West Kirby, St Andrew

Again up to 1936 with no deaths for those names anywhere in the country.

Decided to check the birth of George Galloway Dobell and the entry is for September qtr 1901 Edmonton 3a 617.  This date surprises me since it would make him about 7 years younger than Nora, however there is a birth for a George Dobell December qtr 1894 Northwich, Cheshire 8a 246 which would make better sense, except that Galloway is bothering me since the marriage was specifically George Galloway Dobell.

1938 Kellys:

Geo. G. Dobell  "Bramerton", Meols Drive, West Kirby, Wirral Cheshire. HOYlake 1377.

Also G.C. Dobell & Co Ltd General Merchants 9 Rumford Street  with warehouses in Church St Bootle and Liver St, mills and works at 2 and 2a Fulton Street. Could be the family business

but I went from 1900 also and the best I could do was a Robina Stead ........ and I think you got her also !  ???

1901 A/M/J 8b 375 Toxteth Park

Why do people assume I know what I don't know ???  Are we going to add her onto the family?  is this a marriage or a birth?

Tazzie, Lewis Grant would be about 8 years old in 1871 and he's not with the family there, so am I safe to assume that he and his mother Elizabeth are NOT part of our family?  I think maybe I should leave them off unless anybody comes up with better proof.

Annie - this William H Stead, do we reckon he's connected or are you just saving him up?

Be gentle with me Mary ...... I'm still drinking coffee !! .........  ;) ;)

Robina was a marriage I found on A .... so I don't have the partner !

I found William Henry .... when I was looking for William Harley .... and dismissed him as too young .... but I was going through my stuff and thought I'd better mention him !!

and that's all I have .... the marriage and the 1901 !!

Do you notice that Miller Crease was an Organ Builder in 1881 - I can't imagine him having his own business then can you? and music doesn't appear to have been in his father's genes as he was a patternmaker for shoes.  It makes me wonder if he worked for Liverpool's famoush Rushworth & Dreapers, their premises were not very far away and had long been established by then - founded in 1828.

STEAD   Robina   married LYNCH   Henry W   Toxteth Park, St. Matthew   Liverpool

I have a feeling that this is just a bit too far south for our lot, I'd rather not confuse the issue by putting them in the Gedcom just yet but reserve them in case we connect them later, maybe through an earlier generation.

Especially since there are TWO Robina Steads would you believe in the 1901 census, they have to be related to each other, it's an unusual enough name.  I can take an educated guess at which one the marriage is for since although the family of the younger one is living in Toxteth, she's only 10 years old.

She's living with her brother and family at 96 Upper Pitt Street, St Thomas, Liverpool,
