OK I don't know how much time I have before I have to go out but this is what I have found so far.

The files from the Solicitors in question are held in the Law Society Archives and I have their phone number.

The two partners are still working for other Solicitors in the Liverpool area, one of which I don't particularly want to contact because of the firm he's working for but maybe as a last resort, I'll try the other one first, but wonder whether the archives would be better......

At 13 Victoria Road is a residential care home called Fernleigh:

Unfortunately the number listed there doesn't take incoming calls - I thought they might be able to tell me what was at no.14.

Current electoral rolls do not list anyone living at 14 Victoria Rd.  Historical electoral rolls apparently do list some people with this address, but I've only got the basic subscription to 192 so their names are blanked out.

Well one marriage I have found is Elizabeth N Stead married Frank W Hurst, September qtr 1940 Bucklow 8a 948.

The only problem is that if she was born in 1907 and still had the same name in 1990 then that means she didn't marry, but there isn't a death noted after that date - is that death register complete? I thought it was?
