Well one marriage I have found is Elizabeth N Stead married Frank W Hurst, September qtr 1940 Bucklow 8a 948.

Can't be positive that this is the right couple as Bucklow is in Cheshire http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/bucklow.html

but if it is I don't think there are going to be any children 

Sefton South where the death occurred would be in the Bootle/Crosby area of Merseyside.

Where was that information from Retiringtype? is there a website with some parish registers listed?  It might be possible to trace anything through the church?

It was in the 1984-2004 BMD indexes. I expect there would have been a death announcement in the Liverpool Echo (and/or The Times) in January or early February 1990.

Does anyone out there have access I wonder?

   Well I checked births for Steed incase anything came up wrongly.

 I did find a MMN Grant for a Steed birth but it was in Bristol 1922 so I think way off our patch.

Well for something completely different ..... I found out that before WW1 our Robert worked at Parrs Bank Ltd Market branch Liverpool and was bonded ......... it that too far back to pursue ??

The bank itself also established offices in Barcelona and Madrid during the same time. In 1917, bank officials decided to acquire the Ulster Bank (which continued to operate separately), with 170 branches throughout Ireland, and in 1918 bought Parr's Bank, with over 320 offices throughout England. These purchases made London, County, Westminster & Parrs (which became simply Westminster Bank Ltd. in 1923)the fifth-largest bank in England.
