It's lovely to hear from you Michel, welcome to Rootschat, we're a friendly bunch.

I've no idea whether we might find a descendant but I know one of your wishes was to see where he had lived and now you have photographs, so that's nice.

Annie, I think you should be posting on the Liverpool Echo messageboard, I know people have had some luck there.

I don't think links to websites work though, so use an email address carefully!!

I'm in two minds about it, on the one hand the Probate Index possibly gives all the information there was, since it was proved by Elizabeth Neil Stead and we have the amount, on the other hand it should only cost £5 since we have the dates of both death and probate, and there is the possibility of it naming any descendants.

What makes me doubtful, however, is that they were only married for 7 years, so if there were any children they would be so young that he might not have mentioned them and the estate went straight to Elizabeth, and you did check the indexes for children. :(

I think maybe we could look more at Nora(h) and see if we can find a marriage for her, I noticed that Wendi looked, but maybe she was a late developer  ;)  If Wendi is reading, can you tell me if you checked the images themselves? that would save some time.

Apr/May/June qtr 1912 is missing anyway for all letters after 'A'
Oct/Nov/Dec qtr 1925 missing
The Norah Stead from Ormskirk married a Kewley in June qtr 1916, Ormskirk 8b 1242, but as we have a birth for a Norah in Ormskirk I assume this would be her.

Right I have a possible Nora M Stead who married George G Dobell December qtr 1926 Wirral 8a 846.  Wirral is definitely not too far away to be her and is the only Nora M in the vicinity at all.

CheshireBMD confirms that the name IS Nora May Stead who married George Galloway Dobell at West Kirby, St Andrew
