If Elizabeth remarried she may still at least be in the same area as her birth is....

  Elizabeth Neil Grant West Derby 1895 Q2 8b 505.

So her family would still be around her.

Tazzie, they had already moved from the Everton area to Gateacre, I know it's not very far but not quite on the doorstep.  Of course we don't know whether they may have moved to the area also.

Michel, at present, let's see if we can take it further without spending any money, as explained above, there's no certainty that there will be any new information in a will or merely Elizabeth's name and address.

Anybody else have viewpoints or suggestions?

Again up to 1936 with no deaths for those names anywhere in the country.

Decided to check the birth of George Galloway Dobell and the entry is for September qtr 1901 Edmonton 3a 617.  This date surprises me since it would make him about 7 years younger than Nora, however there is a birth for a George Dobell December qtr 1894 Northwich, Cheshire 8a 246 which would make better sense, except that Galloway is bothering me since the marriage was specifically George Galloway Dobell.

Annie we need some of your searches, they always come up with the goods somehow.

        Hi Mary A ....

Oh B** missed that bit ..was looking at the piccies brilliant.

Found where the will came up for Robert The ONS for Stead/Steed.. now I hope they would be ok with their name but do you think Steed is worth a try?

There are lots in the West Derby area for this time frame.

Morning everybody !

I'm still half asleep .... I was up half the night checking too and came up with nada !!  :P

but I thought just struck me ... when Robert joined up he was a bank clerk and as he seemed to have left a bit of money ( for 1928 ) .... I wonder if we can check banks in the area ..... a quick peruse turned up nothing ..... but it might be an avenue to pursue !

I also checked Allerton Cemetery and I can't remember if there is a graveyard at St Stephens ....... the church has a blog but I couldn't find a "contact us" place on there ......... would a phone call asking if there is any record of his funeral be a possibility ? the Vicar sounds "hip" maybe he would like the challenge too !!  :)

I also checked to see if I could find anything on his mother being a Professor of Music .... but struck out there too !!

All in all - not a very productive night !! ........ but might save somebody else going over the same ground ...

Annie  :)

Well that's good to know since I can't find a death for either name and I got up to 1958.  No results for the name Dobell in West Kirby or Hoylake in the current BT phonebook but then again many people are ex directory these days.

I suspect, although I don't know for certain, that this site might have been redeveloped, http://www.houseprices.co.uk/e.php?q=&n=10&sid=65985&f=pd

Go for it, there's only 7 years to search so not so bad.

I have found the telephone number for the church, I might ask the Reverend.  I think the year was 1926 not 1928.
