Annie is right it has to be the closest family member . We now have loads of names and maybe we could do with a recap on each family.
I think we may get bogged down in all the info.

Mary I think the will states everything we need on that line of enquiry .
The Creases I think could be a good line to really look into.

Mary ! ..... what do you reckon on

Quote
Is it worth trying to follow up on the Richards who were living in Orrell and Ford in the 1901 census?
What about the Creases?

I think they would get my vote ! :)

Something nagging at me from earlier on:
I wonder if Alice H Crease was in fact a Mrs or was it just noted as that rather than admitting to being a single woman?

These are the Creases listed in 1938 Kellys:

Crease Mrs Alice H music dlr (Rt. C) 10 Higher lane Fazakerley
Crease Regnld pianoforte dealer 15 East Orchard La 9
Crease Rt. insur supt 14 Kent rd Poulton, Wallasey
Crease Rt. music dlr 14 County Road Walton N TN Walton 288

I am thinking that Mrs Alice H Crease could be Miller Crease's wife (formerly Alice Richards ) who would have been 64 in 1938, not the daughter Alice

We could do with getting all these names and dates of the Steads and the Grants and the Richards and the Creases into a database, ideally a tree, so that we can easily see the relationships and time lines - has any one put a gedcom together for them yet?
