When Trystan and I were arranging the Manchester Meet, we first marked on the Map a few places and ideas that we thought would be fun and educational for the day. Then it was a trip into Manchester on the Tram to check out places to eat

and to see how long it would take to
walk between these places. Once we found a place to eat we asked if we could reserve a table for the event, most are only too happy to help.
The talk by the Archivist of the Cathedral for many was the highlight of the day, this was organized by phoning and asking if they did offer talks etc In our case the talk was *free* but they were thankfull for a donation to help there work. I guess most larger facilities should have an archivist who may be able to help.
At the end of the evening we made sure that everyone was back at there hotel/bus and tram OK before we headed off home.
We kept pretty much to the timetable as this gave people the option to join in through the day, by swapping a few phone numbers offline this made sure everyone was looked after.
