Newton, St Johns and St John Lee

I have a John Newton married to Christian Greaves 10/8/1793 at St Johns, Newcastle.
According to the IGI amongst their several children is one Richard Burden Newton b 9/5/1805, St Johns, Newcastle.

Now it's possible that this Richard had a family name (Burden) for his middle name...working on that premise (is that the right word?) there is a marriage for a James Newton and Catherine Burdon at St John Lee on 6/1/1757.
Possible parents for the first John?

Not knowing the geography of Newcastle parishes, can anyone tell me please if this is a possiblity?

Parish of St John Lee is well out of Newcastle. In fact about halfway between Newcastle and border with Cumberland.

Nearest town ( but separate parish) would have been Hexham.

(www.genuki.org.uk , in the Northumberland section has "live" parish map... a click on any parish will return the A-Z of that parish)

If John and Christian had been following the convention
(is that the right word.. LOL ) of the day... the English Naming Pattern.. they would have called their first son and second dtr after John's parents, and their second son and first dtr after Christian's parents ( but infantile deaths fudge this "backwards" detection.)

Ok 1st 4 children in order are
William
Louisa
Elizabeth
Thomas.
other children Isabella and Richard.

Christian's parents were William and Elizabeth.
So possibly looking for John's parents as William and Louisa or Thomas and Louisa.
Hmmm? Louisa is not a name that's come down through the Newton families I've found so far.

Back to the drawing board methinks

How soon after their marriage, was William born ?.

I will have a look at St John's (Newcastle) parish records for their marriage. You might be lucky or not. It might say
"John, native of xyz parish" or just " John OF this parish" or even just "John"

Just realised there's a large 4 year gap between William and Louisa, so possibly 1 or 2 deaths in between.

Richard Burdon Newton, born 9 May 1805, baptised 4 Aug 1805, 3rd son of John Newton, Woolen Draper, native of Gateshead Parish Durham, by his wife Christian, daughter of William Greaves, native of All Saints

Isabella Newton, born 6 July 1803, baptised 31 July 1803, 3rd daughter of John Newton, Linen draper, native of Gateshead, by his wife Christian, daughter of William Greaves native of [blank].

Elizabeth Greaves Newton, born 24 July 1798, baptised 26 Aug 1798, 2nd daughter of John Newton, linnen draper, native of Gateshead Durham,  by his wife Christian, daughter of William Greaves, navtive of Parish of All Saints in this town.

John Newton and  Christian Greaves were married by license. wit John Kell and William Burn [frequent witness]

That explains a lot of things with this family.
There always seemed to be a lot of moving backwards and forwards, a bit hard to get a handle on them at times.

Thomas Greaves Newton, born 3 Oct 1800 bapt 2 Nov 1800... his maternal grandad William Greaves,  is "native of Quayside, All Saints parish"
