Can anyone tell me anything about what I have been told is or was a mansion in connection with the Forse family please?
Gingerland is mentioned in A2A but the Forse family is not mentioned. I note there is a livery stables in the area now called Gingerland.

Hi Chris

If you "google" Gingerland +devon you will come up with several hits including Genuki and a reference to the Forse family as well.

hi there i know that the mansion was owned by John Of Trynytie born c1562 who had a son called jon of gingerland born c1589 and he also had a son called john of gingerland born  c1623and this john of gingerland had children and they were named as forse dont know.
i know that the name change had something to do with wealth.

john forse c1733 the great grand son of john of gingerland c1623 married in to the shere family he married sarah shere c1733 and from there on i belive that the house became the property of the shere family and still is today

my father inlaw has a picture of this house and once i get a copy i will post it on here for you
all the best
