Hi Ken,

The paper doesnt say anything about "Home" in columns it states L-R:

*Regiment.
*Promotions/Relocations/Casualties.
*Rank.
*Period of service in each rank (then From-To).
*Amount of service.

The last time I contacted the Guards they were very "blunt" (infact down right rude) and has made me wary of contacting them again.

Getting to Kew is not possible, and I do not know how to search the TNA site. (I have tried, but I never seem to find much)

Sorry not much help am i?

Julie

Apart from the online Medal Index Cards from WW1, there isn't much you can get from TNA website, except if he was discharged before 1854, then it will tell you if his record survives on microfilm.

Forget what I said about WO97 your Attestation papers probably come from that series. Only the Muster and Pay Lists (WO12) will tell you where he was in 1861.

Ahh Ken,

I see what you mean, I think... and the only way to see these Rolls is at Kew? Please forgive my ignorance, I don't have much knowledge (as you  can probably tell  ::) about with "ways" of military searching.) I do know a few people that go there quite regularly. But I am not able to get there at the present.
