1901 help pls......Wayland.......Rochford
« on: Thursday 04 January 07 15:56 GMT (UK) »
Help with the Wayland's of Rochford would be much appreciated. I can't say the name of the parents, but there were at least 2 sons: Arthur & Percy, b 1886, 87 respectively.

Thanks   :) Lyn

Hi,
These posts are all pretty old, but I am hoping that some of the people are still active on this chat.  I have an interest in the Cockleys, being descended from Thomas Cockley, born circa 1793, and Sarah Unknown, born circa 1797.  This is through their son Henry, born circa 1833 in Eastwood, who married Charlotte Kemp.
Thanks,
Achra

Henry was baptised in Eastwood on 12.08.1833, the same day as his brother Thomas, who is recorded in the census as being 2 years older than Henry.
A William (same parents) was baptised 22.04.1826
John baptised 27.11.1823 in Barling
Thomas baptised 22.12.1820 in Barling
Sarah baptised 16.04.1820 in Little Wakering

And a Mary buried 17.02.1823 in Barling aged 10 weeks(no parents named)

I can not find a marriage for Thomas and Sarah, but these earlier births, not recorded as living with parents in later census, explain then apparent late age at which Thomas and Sarah started to have children.
