Well KathMc,

Us Statesiders can do our own meet some time after the winter weather has passed. I am in "upstate NY" not far from the MA & VT borders. I am not up to driving in freezing rain, snow or some of the sideways rainstorms we get here. So Spring is my choice and anywhere within a couple of hundered miles is OK with me!  Anyone want to try and meet?

Granma Anne, we can't be too far apart. I am in Hamilton, NY.  :) And I am pretty sure there is another Rootschatter in the area as well. I would definitely be up for it, although it is really feeling like spring to me here right now.  ::)

Kath,

Look at the weather forecast for tomorrow. Freezing rain and snow - this weather system left Kansas yesterday and it is our present for the New Year. Long term outlook has more snow for next weekend.

I drive well and have made it through many snowstorms, sleet, freezing rain, heavy rain and just 'I should have stayed at home' weather. Since I am no longer forced to get up and go to work each day I just prefer not to take on mother nature if I don't have to do so.

I figured if we planned ahead for decent weather (late March or April) we could gather a few more rootschatters in the surrounding area to join us and make it a special occasion. You are probably close to two hours drive from me. As I said I am half an hour from the Mass border and just about the same from Vermont. South of Albany.

Let's see what we can get out of this. We can meet no matter what,it just would be nice if we managed to find a few others willing to join in.

OK States  siders Lets get planning.

I just drove back from New Hampshire this evening and I have a headache from the setting sun along the Mass Pike so this will be brief!

Anyone in the Northeast (New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey and even Pennsylvania) who would like to get together for a "Let's Meet Other RootsChatter's" some time after the worst of the winter driving is done  with for this season. We can try and pick a spot that can easily be reached by all of us and a time that is convenient for the majority.  I suggest late March or anytime in April. Also suggest we find a place just off of one of the major thoroughfare's, I-90 or ?? Of course you have to bring your family tree and we can tell our tales of success or the worst experience you have had. Plus, I think we will get to meet some of the nicest, most helpful people in the world.

What say????

Even though I don't reside in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Jersey and even Pennsylvania I would be interested in attending a stateside rootschat meeting. I reside just outside Washington DC in Northern Virginia.

Gr8!

I only listed the nearest states to me cause I figured that no one who is further away would be interested in traveling any farther.  Basically, ANYONE WHO IS A ROOTSCHATTER IS WELCOME TO COME. Even those of you on the other side of our great big pond!

Ooooooooooooh, now I am starting to dream Grandma Anne ::)

It would be a dream come true if I could make it to your side of the pond  ;D  ;D  ;D  8)

Do keep us informed of your plans!

My dad was born in New York and it is 26 years since I was there.....at that time I went to the Municipal Records Centre in Chambers Street without any idea of what I was looking for. Now, I would know exactly what I wanted..... ;)

My daughter who is 18 has never been and truly wants to visit New York, she is at Uni so obviously the dates would need to fit.....but if we do make it, I would just love to meet up with you all.
