Rascarrel caught my attention, if it is relevant to your quest, as I knew it as a child having holidays in the area. It is a kilometre or so south of Auchencairn, which is a village about 10 km east of Kirkcudbright. NX 7951. There is a Rascarrel Moss and Rascarrel Bay
