St Paul's has a graveyard and as the church was consecrated in 1864 it is a possibility.  There is also a non-conformist graveyard a bit further down the Reading Road towards Reading and the Baptist Church in Milton Road which was rebuilt in 1860 also has one.  The Methodist Church in Rose Street was built in 1870 and doesn't have graveyard now  I think that Berks FHS have recorded all the gravestones in Wokingham churches and so it might be worth checking what they have.

Your baptisms would have been at All Saints if they were CofE because Wokingham was a single parish until St Paul's parish was separated. St Sebastian's to the south was formed in 1871 although the church was built in 1864.

Hi Berkclass,

Thank you so much for that info. At last I can finish this piece of the jigsaw.  I would also like to thank everybody who has contributed to my quest and apologize for not having answered sooner. I changed my e mail address and forgot to notify Rooschat, therefore I received no notifications and assumed no further developments and didn t check it.

Many thanks again to you all

Hi David,

Thanks very much for your reply.  He actually died at 139 Walmer Road, Notting Hill, London   I have made extensive enquiries around the burial grounds there without success.  However, his wife Esther was from Wokingham and they settled there after marriage in 1848 where their four daughters were born.   Esther s death is also registered there earlier in 1889 although I don t know the exact date.

His Will states Edwin White late of London Road, Wokingham as well as the Notting Hill address so obviously they maintained a strong connection with the town.

This is as much as have to go on so I do hope you can find something from this.

Thanks again for kind offer and a very happy festive season to you.

    Regards

    Nimrod

Hello ,
You didn't say whether you had it, but Esther was buried Wokingham All Saints
