I am currently reseraching into Walter Brickett whomwas the coach and trainer for the GB Swimming team during the early 1900's.  He lived in Camden Town and Regents Park area and his profession was noted as a Pianoforte maker, as were 3 of his brothers. Anyone have any more info at all?

thanks and merry christmas
Margaret

Hi Margaret

You don't say how much info you already have.

There are some things on Google if you do a search.
You could contact the ASA http://www.britishswimming.org/
He's also fairly easy to find on the 1901 census in Camden Town if he is 35 years old and a Pianoforte Maker.

Biker

Thanks for that Biker

Have all the info I can find on the net and off the census.  Was hoping that someone might know some more personal info as it were,  other than what is in the public domain.

Thanks for your help
Margaret

Hello Margaret,

I am decended from Walter.  He was my mothers father through his second marriage to Ethel.  I dont know that much as he died when my mother was a baby, but I do have some old family photos that contain other people too, and it would be nice to know if you have come across any of these and know who they are.  My daughter found your Rootchat entry whilst surfing (uni must have been boring that day!).  Can you explain what your interest in Walter is please ?  Do get in touch.
Regards,
RKD.

Good day,

My name is Stephen and we are currently researching our Brickett family tree, taking over from where my grandfather left off. We have a number of records, photos and documents pertaining to Walter Septimus Brickett. We have noted that he married an Ethel Brickett and we are battlingto get any information on her other than that they had a daughter, Kathleen Brickett. What information do you have that you can share with us, photos, birth and death certificates etc etc.

Walter is my great great grandfather.

Regards
Stephen

Hello Stevie
Saw your post.  We have something in common. Walter Septimus Brickett was my Grandfather. As you rightly stated, he married Ethel Mitchell and they had a daughter, Kathleen, my mother.
Mum sadly passed away in 2007 after a long battle with cancer.  She married Kenneth Albert Duke and had two sons, but they divorced , and Mum remarried to Peter George Arnell a few years later.
I do have some pictures of Walter and Ethel.  Strangely I found a load I hadn't seen before when I was helping to clear some of the old cupboards in the house recently.

I may have some old certificates amongst the files (haven't really had a chance to see what is there yet).  Do get in touch.

Regards
R

Hi Roy,

Thank you for your email. Sorry to hear of your mother.

Would you be able to make contact with me on * ?

Walter was my great great grandfather through his first marriage. I have some photos etc as well that I can share with you from what I have found in my grandfather's collection. Would it be possible to get copies of those pictures and certificates for our own personal records?

I reside in South Africa, I assume that you are in the US?

Look forward to heazring from you

Roy

We lost contact some time ago and emails I sent to you were bounced back.  Good to know you are still about.  Could you pm me your email as I have a copy of the book chapter about Walter to send you as well as some papers which include details of Walter that you may be interested in.  I have previously attempted to send it to you but as I say your email seemed not to be working....
I have also been in contact with Stephen,

Kindest regards
