finding a place

has anyone knowledge of a place called Sothers Green? My Gt Grandfather Whitworth was born there  about 1845 but I can't find it.  Grateful for help.

Do you know what area of Lancs its in

On which census did it state Sothers Green for him ?

Maybe we can find him on an earlier one - whats his full name ?

Is his name Robert Whitworth, the one thats on the 1881 census married to a Mary Ann. If so on the 1871 census he says he comes from Ovington in Yorkshire.

Thanks for all replies to Finding a Place, Sothers Green, Lancs re my Gt Grandfather.  According to Census 1871 and 1881 he was born in 2 places!!
