I think the image shows Francis born Jersey, with ChannI written next to it, maybe later in different pen

If that's right then there in the 1881 Channel Islands there is a Frank EDGAR b.1866 St Helier, Jersey, son of Henry A and Amilia. RG11/5610 f.106 p.17.
