Hi Elizabeth Im in Belfast same time zone lol but busy with it being so close to christmas.

Now here is a site where you can get the details of your grandmothers birth her parents marriage etc

http://www.familyulster.com/family_ulster_records_BMD_requests.htm

The first site i gave you is the Ulster Historical Society just go to the link and at the top click online data bases.

http://www.ancestryireland.com/database.php.

follow the instructions
I just looked at marraiges put in your grt grandas name then i did it again and put in your grt grans name and the 2 marraiges that had the same dates and places for those 2 names was the ones i put in my message.

Hi Colette

I just typed a whole page to you and it didn't register on Rootschat anyway.

Thanks for the two website I will go and try them both!!

You have been a great help can I just ask one more thing please!!

How do you order Birth or marriage certificates from Ireland??

I could order the marriage of my grandparents and my grans birth certificate.

I have a lot more Irish relatives still to find so it would be great to know just how you order the certificates from Ireland.

I can't thank you enough for all your help!!

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, your best bet is to apply to the general Register office in Roscommon (which is in the south of ireland) as they have all the birth marriage and death records for all of ireland up to 1922.
Northern ireland GRO only has the marriage records after 1922 but Births from 1865. the link for the Roscommon GRO is

Good luck

Hello again Colette,

I don't know about Irish records but with Scottish, if you want to order the certificate you have to have the exact date of the birth or marriage.  Is it the same with Irish records too!!

Thanks for all your help again by the way, I don't think I ever would have found them without you!!

Elizabeth :) :)
p.s. Thats a lovely picture of your mother by the way, she really is lovely!!

HI again Elizabeth thankyou for the compliment to my Mother She hasnt seen this Picture on my Conputer yet cant wait to show her.

Now bck to the task in hand, you can apply for a Photo copy of the information on the original register (its £6 while a cert is £11) give them as much info details of the birth, death or marriage as you can, i.e. full names, date and location of event, parent's names and occupations, mother's maiden names etc.  the more information you give them the more chance they have of finding the records you are looking for.
The index and records are date based and are in a manual format so accurate dates would be ideal, or even correct year at least  :) so if you tell them 1877 for the marriage they will look the whole year, They have been known to look a year either side too  :)
