Can anyone help?
I Have John Griffiths b1855 in Cardoxton Neath Glamorgan,

I found them in1861 but cannot find them in 1881.
Can anyone find them in 1871?

and four sons:
David, 13, errand boy

Hi Taylor-Rycroft

1871 RG10/5440 Folio 30 Page 8 Llansamlet

Evan Griffith 31 Collier born Neath
Mary Griffith 24 born Llansamlet
Sarah Rees 8 StepDaughter Llansamlet
Elizabeth Griffith 1 Ditto Llansamlet
Hannah Griffith 1 Ditto Llansamlet
Twins  :D The first I've ever found  :D

1871 RG10/5438 Folio 6 Page 5 Cadoxton Neath

Thomas Griffiths 28 Collier ?can’t decypher? Unemployed
Elizabeth Griffiths 23 wife born Breconshire

You didn’t mention David Jnr., was that because you had found him?

RG10/5437 Folio 44 Page 26 Cadoxton
David Griffiths 58 Stone Mason
John Griffiths 16

David is a widow, so Hannah must have died in the intervening 10 years.

There is a Hannah Griffith death recorded in Neath Quarter to June 1868 with an estimated birth year of 1815.

Hi Taylor-Rycroft

I'll answer your PM queries here.

David is the eldest son, found by Gareth on the 1851 Census - the errand boy.  Evan, Thomas and William were his younger siblings.  Traditional family, to name the eldest son after the father!

I have now highlighted John born 1855 on my previous reply, he is living at home with his widowed father

Hope that helps!

There are 2 possibles on 1871 census for David Junior, both born Neath but my money would be on

RG10/5427 Folio 27 Page 2 Briton Ferry

David Griffiths 32 Mason born Neath
Elizabeth Griffiths 30 born Neath
William David Griffiths 10 months Briton Ferry

Simply because of the profession, the other one was a Butcher  :-\

I came across, what maybe their marriage on IGI

David Griffiths & Hannah Davies 19.12.1835 Cadoxton  Juxta Neath.

Don't know if you had that!

Wendi :)
