Janice- thanks for all the information.
The Dymond Peckovers are not related to me.
I knew that Horace & Bessie were buried in Brooklyn as are most of Bessie's family. I haven't been there in over 20 years but just about everyone in Brooklyn seems to be related.
The 1901 census (Elderslie) gives Bessie as born in England but she was actually born in Brooklyn. Strangely enough they have also turned up in 1900 Census in Pennsylvania.

KD- never would have found them in 1911 Census- Peckonis?... the big surprise is a daughter Hannah. No one in the family ever mentioned a daughter and since she was 30 in 1911 you'd think someone would have remembered her. Unfortunately I have no one to ask.
There seem to be lots of mistakes on the census, although possibly down to Horace's handwriting.
Bessie was born in N.S. not U.S. (maybe NS misread as US?).
Horace and Bessie were married in 1877 and I'm pretty sure at this point that Cecil was born in 1878, not 1887.
Census says Horace born Wisconsin but I found he was born in Jamaica!
Think Horace Joseph Peckover d.1930 in Florida is Bessie's son.

These relatives seem to be all over the place! Many thanks to all.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

KD- went to automatedgenealogy to find Peckovers and was able to look at scanned copy of 1911 census which clears up several things.

Automatedgenealogy has transcibed the name as PECKOWAY, Bessie is born in NS not US , son Cecil born June 1877 USA, son Horace J. born Mar.1882 West Indies (not Wisconsin)
and the Hannah listed is a maid!- Hannah Tates, single, born Mar.1881 England.
At least that's Hannah out of the way, and I don't have to start searching for the family in Wisconsin.

I knew Bessie's husband was a minister but never heard they'd lived in Jamaica or even Pennsylvania. Bessie's cousin married a minister and they were missionaries in Brazil and that was certainly talked about even when I was young.

Thanks again.
