This doesn't look easy - I really can't see a likely candidate on the census.
No BMD either. Doing a search on only his first name and birth place, I find this birth registration:
Francis Richard D McKee - Dec 1899 Scarborough 9d 397
I'm wondering if the D stands for Dawes ...
