There is a Mary L Dunnett (could have misheard Marie) on the 1901 census born c 1886 in Spalding Lincs, living in Norfolk with her widowed mother.

What age was your Marie on her marriage cert and what is her fathers name and occupation.  It will help knowing this info to find her.  Also if I have read correctly George Henry abandoned her, did she ever remarry?

Kath

P.S.  Had a mad moment, you have already said how old Marie was on this thread and the fathers name, I will how and go and investigate the family I found in 1901 further :D

If she was 22 in 1908 she would have been born c1886 - she would not have been around in 1881 ...

There is a birth reg in the Sep-Dec qtr 1885 for a Mary Louisa in the district of Spalding, 7a, 388a (www.freebmd.org).

1901 census - Holts Lane, Hilgay, Norfolk (RG13/1894, Folio 58, Page 16)
H.E. Burnett, Head, Wid, 62, Norfolk, Southery
Mary L   "    , Dau, S, 15, Servant Domestic, at home, Lincs Spalding

1891 census - Powderblue Cottage, Eye, Peterborough, Northamptonshire (RG12/1232, Folio 101, Page 7)
Thomas Dunnett, Head, M, 51, Farm Labourer, Norfolk Hackford
Hannah     "       , Wife, M 51                                     "   , Southery
John          "       , Son, 14, Farm Boy                          "  , Fettlewell
George      "       ,   "   , 13     "                                   "  ,     "
Mary          "      , Dau, 5                                     Lincs, Spalding

This all fits in with the 1881 census you have, it is possible that the Mary in that census had died and named the daughter in 1886 after her.

Ah, sorry ljuk.

There is a death registration in the qtr Sep- Dec 1881 for a Mary Louisa Dunnett aged 6 in the registration district of King's Lynn, Norfolk.  So that fits in nicely.
