BRANSCOMBE of Duke Street, Elland
« on: Thursday 07 December 06 13:47 GMT (UK) »
Researching BRANSCOMBE. Harry died 1970 in Kirkbuton. Rosina A. his wife (my Aunt)  was the informant on his death certificate (address Duke Street, Elland.) Believe she remarried but the only possible record I can find show a ROBINA A BRANSCOMBE (NOT Rosina) marrying Jack CLAYTON in 1984. However I cannot find a death for Robina or Rosina CLAYTON or BRANSCOMBE. (She would be 100 years old now if still alive) Does anybody have any knowledge of this lady or can any one help please. 'ello, Richard,

Do you want to try a "long-shot" ?  I have a Halifax Telephone Directory (actually - May 2002) which lists a R.A.Branscome, in Elland, would you like this telephone number to try ?

In fact, there are only 5 BRANSCOME's in the whole of the directory, all in the Elland/Greetland area, perhaps any or all of them could be descendants of your family. ??

Send me a personal reply and I will give you all this info.
OR, I will be in Halifax next Thursday, and can re-check in a 2006 directory.

Regards,
Gordon.

Good Morning Gordon. Thanks for the offer, I would appreciate the names, phone numbers and especially if possible the addresses of all the Branscombes in Elland. I think written contacts would be preferable at this point in time as sometimes phone calls are viewed with suspicion when following up family leads and it is 50 years or so since I last saw Harry (my uncle) and I NEVER met Auntie Rosie to my knowledge. As I do not know whether Harry and Rosie had children, the others could be family members (my cousins or descendants), and I would prefer written contact at first. Thanks again for your trouble. Richard.
