Fobbing is only a small place (17 pages including all the irrelevant info on the 1841 census)
No Swan(n)'s in Fobbing in 1841, there was a Henry that died in Billericay district in 1841, could he have been the first born and your Henry followed with the added second name of William (to differ from the first born) in 1843 (big big question mark, but one loves to be a detective).
You are looking for Henry who married Jane in 1871? and you are also assuming (as he declared he was born in Fobbing) that they grew up together before they married!
"Jaq's" Henry aged 18 and a lodger is a good bet as Basildon and Fobbing could be regarded as the same place and Basildon is the more dominant name so to speak.
The odds are the parent SWAN(N)'s in 1841 live within a triangle from Brentwood in the north to Purfleet in the west to Benfleet in the east, you can't go south from Fobbing as you would be in the River Thames!
Corringham/Stanford le Hope/Basildon/Vange/Laindon/Horndon in that order are Fobbings immediate neighbours and possible best bets, they come under Billericay or Orsett.
