Tigerbelle,
My gg grandparents were John McCance & Agnes McMillan (nee McLeod). He (1819-21/10/1907) was a son of John McCance & Martha Gilmour (married Killinchy 27/3/1813) and is buried with Agnes in his stepsons' grave (for James & Nathaniel McMillan) at Chewton. Agnes (1809-12/10/1896) was a daughter of Daniel McLeod & Agnes McKimm. She first married Nathaniel McMillan (1807-3/10/1843) in 1827 and they had six sons (Hamilton, John, James, Nathaniel, Thomas, Alexander). After Nathaniel was killed (apparently by anti-orange men) she married John McCance and they had three sons (Robert Millan, William Henry Millan, Francis Edward) and two daughters (Martha, Agnes Ann). The whole family migrated to Victoria in late 1852. The two older McMillans and families sailed from Liverpool on the "Marion Moore" and the McCances and youngest McMillans on the "Confiance". If you are interested in more bits on the McCance/McMillans email me at "iandann(-at-)aapt.net.au". There are quite a number in my file and my grandfather (John Robert Duggan, son of Agnes Ann McCance) had over 80 first cousins, and I'm still counting since I haven't found where Alexander McMillan and family finally settled, probably WA. Incidently, John McMillan (1832-1913) settled near Deniliquin on "Pine Farm" with wife (Mary Regan) and are buried at Deniliquin, and Thomas McMillan was a drover for "Pine Farm'.
