1901 Look-Up please,BIRD.
« on: Tuesday 05 December 06 09:45 GMT (UK) »

Hi there,

Would anyone be kind enough to do a Look-Up please on the 1901 Census for me please?

I'm looking for Frederick and Emily BIRD, who should be living in ISLEHAM, SOHAM, CAMBS.

On the 1891 Census they are living in EAST END, Isleham, with children, Frederick, Arthur and Ada.

Many Thanks, Romilly. :) :)

Not leaping out at me, these children, but this looks like Ada -

Ada Bird married James Starling, Sep qr 1899, Newmarket, Vol 3b, p 1188.

1901 - RG13, piece 1542, folio 98, p 10.
East End, Isleworth.

James Starling, Head, M, 27, Farm labourer, b. Isleworth.
Ada Starling, Wife, M, 19, b. Isleworth.
James A Starling, Son, 1, b. Isleworth.
John R Starling, Son, 3mths, b. Isleworth.

Fred and Emily are entry 57 and James and Ada are 62.  Entry 61 is a Starling family - perhaps James' parents?

Off to look for the others -

Here's young Fred -

1901 - RG13, piece 1542, folio 105, p 23.
Waterside Road, Isleham.  (Inbetween the Ship Inn and the Swan Inn).

Fred Bird, Head, M, 28, Farm labourer, b. Isleham.
Agnes Bird, Wife, M, 20, b. Isleham.

Interesting to see a big age gap between James and Ada and Fred and Agnes.

Arthur is proving very illusive - anyone else able to find him?

Many thanks for that Monica,

Interesting to see that the Birds married into the Starlings!! :D

I wonder what happened to Arthur though? His son, Horatio Bird was definately born in Isleham in 1916, - & so he must have been living there then...

Perhaps he was visiting somewhere during the 1901 Census??

Cheers, Romilly. :) :)
