1841 Census - William Wilson Ellerton - COMPLETED WITH VERY MANY THANKS
« on: Saturday 02 December 06 00:02 GMT (UK) »
If anyone can find William Wilson Ellerton on 1841 census probably living Burton Constable area it would be appreciated.
.........................................

Looking for William Wilson Ellerton on 1841 census.  He would be about 23 years old - born in Danby Wiske.  He got married in 1841 to Margaret from Sproatley but I don't know in what month so he might be living on his own.  His occupation on 1851 census was Groom.  I don't know if it is possible to find him with so little information but here's hoping!

...............................................................
1861 details received.

I would also like details of William and Margaret on 1861 census - on 1871 census they have children Frances Jane aged 14 and Augustus aged 11 - living Hessle.

If anyone can help in regard to either of these censuses it would be most appreciated.

With many thanks.

Zephyr

Hi Pam

Thank you very much for 1861 census information - it has given me the names of additional children so I will now be able to do some more research to expand the family.

With many thanks indeed for your help.

Best wishes.

Thank you Pam for all your efforts - it was very kind of you to go to all that trouble on my behalf.  In between times someone has sent me an e-mail with an article on William Wilson Ellerton - apparently he was a jockey at one point.   He won a hurdle race at Burton Constable in 1841.  He worked for Sir Clifford Constable (High Sheriff of Yorkshire) and travelled abroad with him as one of a retinue of servants!  It's lovely when snippets like this come to light - helps give an insight into their lives.

Many thanks again.
