1871 Census - Frederick Ellerton - COMPLETED WITH VERY MANY THANKS TO JOE

I am researching Fanny Ellen Gibson who married Frederick Ellerton.  I have found their marriage on freebmd in 1872.  According to 1881 census one of their daughters was aged 14 (Annie E) and another daughter Alice aged 11.  On 1871 census Fanny is unmarried and a visitor in the household of an Elizabeth Jewitt? in Hedon.  I am wondering if Frederick was married before Fanny or whether they had children out of wedlock!  I can't find another marriage for Frederick on freebmd so would appreciate it if someone could find Frederick on 1871 census to see if he has a 'wife' living with him.  He was born in 1846 in Etton, near Beverley but daughter Annie was born in Sproatley and Alice in Hedon.  On 1881 family living in Hedon.

Hi Joe

Thank you for that information, which leaves me up in the air! Where are Anne Elizabeth and Alice?  Is there any chance you can do a search for them on 1871.  According to freebmd they were born in 1867 and 1869 respectively and 1881 census gives their places of birth as Sproatley and Hedon respectively.  My other thought was that they were Gibsons but on freebmd they are definitely Ellertons.

If you can help further it would be great.

PS: Thank you for 1861 info - do you happen to have 1851 census access.  The only info I have on Frederick is from the censuses so have no idea of his parents.

I think this could be Alice In 1871 in the same street(Gate) as Frederick.
