Cleobury Mortimer/Ludlow/Cainham
« on: Monday 27 November 06 21:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I have traced my 3x Grandfather through the 1871,1861,1851 & I think 1841 Census! He is listed as being born in all the above areas, could someone please tell me were/are they close together?

He was in Cainham in 1841 (I think! He is the only James Reynolds from that area born around 1831) Where and how do I get access for his birth details on the Parish Registers?

Is Cainham the best Parish Record to look for?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

DTR

hello

Caynham/Cainham is a parish, about 3.5 miles from Ludlow and about 10 miles from Cleobury Mortimer.

It is south of the A4117.

the church is St Mary.

hope this helps.

The James Reynolds that you mention may be my Gt Gt Grandfather.

I cannot trace him for certain in the 1841 census but there is, apparently, a James Roynals in a household with a Mary Roynals and four children.  However, the James in question was a wiidower who just after the census (May 6th 1841) married Mary Ann Wright at Cainham.  We have the certificate, and the witnesses were Mary's daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Richard Houseman.  James Reynolds had died before 1851.

Is any one able to advise whether the James Roynals is in fact James Reynolds, and if so, is Mary his sister-in-law?

Any help appreciated.  Our full tree is accessible on Genes Reunited where we are registered as 'M'

Thanks,

Mike and Jane

I believe James Reynolds parents were John and Elizabeth. Their other son is Edward b1843 who is my G/Grandfather.

Thanks for the email.  I would like to compare notes with you.  Our tree is on Genes Reunited, is yours also?.  If not, can we communicate direct by email?

Hi to both of you.  My 2nd great grandfather is James Reynolds (1830) of Ludlow, later died in Tipton.  Is this the same James Reynolds?? I have his father as John, but no mother yet...  James's daughter, Louisa is my great grandmother.  Her son was my grandad Bill Hughes of Tipton.  DTR I'm pretty sure this is the same guy.

i am on ancestry.co.uk   name is hachidori.
