No other people are listed for the household unfortunately, so maybe her husband was working away? unless she was fibbing about being married..... her second marriage certificate should give her maiden name though, or a birth certificate of one of her children.....

Winifred Hines December 1891 Wells Vol 5c Page 483
(looks like she could have been a twin because there is also a birth registration with the same references for a Wilfred Hines, and a death reference - December 1891 age 0 Wells Vol 5c Page 395)

Hilda Mabel Hines September 1894 Wells Vol 5c Page 463

Dorothy Alice Hines December 1895 Wells Vol 5c Page 448

John George Hines March 1893 Wells Vol 5c Page 476

Regards
Catherine  :)

Once again thankyou Catherine. Yes, the jigsaw is fitting nicely together. The births information and the name Dorothy Alice does fit in as my late mother in law was Dorothy Margaret and I knew she referred to her old Aunt Alice. There was Aunt Hetty also. They were at my wedding. I had visited them at Glastonbury in the 60's . The name Sweet had escaped me. But the help on this ROOTSCHAT WEBSITE has been terrific and so,so helpful.

Hi Kenelms,

John Sweet was my great, great grandfather via his first wife Sarah Ann Childs. He was born in Hurcott, just north east of Somerton and was somewhat prodigious. Sarah Ann gave him ten children and Jane Davis eleven. There are also three more that fall in the period after Jane's split from Henry Hines, which may also be his. If you e-mail me privately e-mail address removed to prevent spamming and other abuse.  please use the personal message system for exchanging e-mail addresses. I'll happily share all the information that I have on both the Hines family and the Sweet family. You may also be able to fill in some of the gaps in my information.

Regards,

Grahame.

Yes, John Sweet was quite a family man as you suggest. The links to Jane Davis after the loss of his first wife is spectulative. Hilda Mabel Hines is the one that I am following as she does not have Henry HINES on the birth certificate only her mother Jane Hines[nee Davis]. Why they separated is not known and when. Also when did Jane Hines and John Sweet first meet up. Was it when she was in the shoe factory at Street or when she lived --ALONE[ or still married] lived near John Street--same road. Jane also did housework for John.
How do you see things from your family line.
