On the tree the Barnard Castle reference comes from the 1861 census, have just checked that and it is correct on the image, odd

I've just looked again and it's on the 1861 record only.

Found their (possible) marriage:

Teesdale District
St. Mary's Church, Whorlton
22 Jun 1833 John Croudace, of the Parish of Barnard Castle married Sarah Smith, of this parish

Can't find them in 1841 though, will have a look tomorrow

John could be one of mine as they were gamekeepers. I am having a cruddace brick wall moment and am looking at other branches at the moment! Still searching for William Croudace 1815 baptism - all I know that it wasn't in Barnard Castle! I have changed my croudace line at least 3 times in the last few months but now know he is definitely mine.
