British Isles Vital Records Index look up offer

Hi Audrey,
I have a ggggrddad William Dolan, his son John Dolan married in 1840, so I have guesstimated John was born abut 1820+- 2 years and William Dolan would have been born 1799+-2or 3years.  They lived in Manchester in 1840.  I am not sure whether John and or his father William were born in Manchester or in Ireland.
If you could help with this WOW I would have a major brick wall crumble.  By the way I know Johns wife was Elizabeth Merner, but I dont know William Dolan's wife.
Hope you can help, you are a real angel to help everyone so much.

Hi Aud,
Thanks for the info. I was wondering though that the date of 1797 for John was about 20 earlier than I had expected, I thought he would be born about 1820 give or take acouple of years. It is certainly information for thought. His marriage cert doesnt give his age so I was guessing.

Does the BVRI do marriages too and, if so would it be poss to look for a marriage between John Thirlwell and Mary from about 1812 ?

Are there any entries for the name DeBoo (or De Boo, or Deboo) on it ?

I guess it is no good just asking for the name Edmonds, as it is too common - you would need a specific person?
