hi,
  can anyone tell me the date of death of esther ramsdale, born 1860?She had a son Edwin, who appears to have been adopted in 1901 census by Margaret Oldfield, 65 ys.old.
 what relation was she to Ramsdales?

that certainly looks like it fits. Do you need to buy certificates to find details of death and family?

Yes I think so, it should state her age, cause of death and informant (sometimes a family member but not always, depending on where she died)
