JOHN DIXON of MORPETH.
« on: Wednesday 22 November 06 14:49 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone come across a JOHN DIXON or DICKSON from the Morpeth area during the course of their own research?

He married Elizabeth Tweedy in St. Mary Magdalene, Whalton, on 21 November 1757.  His wife was buried in Whalton on 24 May 1793, aged 60.

They had a son and a daughter, Ralph and Frances Dixon.  She was C. in Whalton on 25 Feb. 1772 and married Percival Snowdon, also of Whalton, on 6 May 1800.  The banns describe her then as being 'Of Morpeth'.

If anyone knows anything about these Dixons I'd love to hear from them.  Thanks.

JL.

Thanks for trying, Green-Bowler, but the info. you've drawn my attention to relates to the United States only and MY Dixons will have had a solidly Northumberland pedigree only.
