Hi, I am looking for James Courtney born 1828/29 Sydling, Dorset. in the 1841 census (12 years old) , His brother Thomas is in Charminster (married with his own family) james is not with him. Can Anyone help me. Thank You

The only James Courtney living in Upper Sydling seems to be of the correct age too. The details are as follows...

James    "               aged 12                   "    "    " Yes

I'll check again to make sure theres no more, but to me that seems pretty accurate, it will need checking out though.

Looks like you'll have to follow both families down the censuses to verify which ones are yours.

The first one looks promising , as it would appear from the 1851 census that hes is staying with his brother Thomas aged 39.
