MMM Looks like he is possibly with grandparents. 1841 being the first census to be of any benefit to genealogists is rather limited with what it can tell us. No Relationships are listed nor marital status. No exact Place of Birth is Listed on Y (Yes Born in County) or N (No not born in County) Adult ages (persons over 15) may rounded down in 5 year blocks - if the enumerator followed his instructions - looks like this one did not

Thanks for all your help  :-* sorry Margaret has been so difficult. Looking at the fact that Sarah Jane was a stepdaughter to William, it could be that Margaret had been married before - she was 29 when she married William, which seems old.  So Johnson could actually be her 1st married name.  Am I right in thinking I can only find that out from the marriage certificate?

Thanks for all your help yesterday, all my students went away happy.

I am not sure if this lady picked up the last posting, so I will print it off and send it too her - hopefully she will join up soon.

Cheers and thanks again for your fantastic help.
