Here they are in the 1891 Census

Brunton Street
Wallsend
Northumberland

REAY William H Head 32 Mar b Hartburn Northumberland Blacksmith
REAY Margaret Wife 31 Mar b Wallsend
REAY Annie Dau 1 b Newcastle
REAY Sarah J Step Dau 3 b Wallsend

Wallsend is in the Tynemouth Registration District. You may find the marriage took place there as it is the wifes parish.

Thanks a million.  Don't suppose I could have the 1901 census?

you're amazing, many thanks.  Is it possible to find out who their parents were.  Margaret was born 26. 11. 1859 and William on 8.5.1859.

Margaret is not so easy. So far I have not found one listing a place of birth we already have and there are a few Margaret Johnson's in Northumberland. You can try the 1881 Free on Family Search if you like. I will keep looking for her in 1861 or 1871

I am sorry. I am not having any luck with Margaret. With nothing else to go by I am afraid we will need the marriage Certificate to find out her Fathers Name. There is just no-one showing up with a place of birth listed to match the Census Entries we have in either 1861 or 1871 census. By 1881 she is working as a servant......Kris  :'(
