Hi

I'd agree with Prue and OR. They look circa 1920 to me.  Could they be sons?

Thank you both because I hadnt a clue.  I was wondering if the hat might be a clue, or maybe the shape of the tie? Do they fit with 1920?

Great job.  I was thinking earlier but Ill go back the "family tree" and see.  I have a photo of all of her sons and they are dark even though Sarah is a blonde blue eyed scots irish.  Maybe nephews....  such a mystery

is it a Panama hat?  ???
Not sure.  They've been around for yonks though...prior to the 19th century and then right up to the post-WW2 period, so not much help I'm afraid (unless I've got the type of hat completely up the whatsit!)

I think so Prue  :)

I've just had another look. The two look very alike - could they be the same person with and without hat  ???

They're very similar, aren't they Gadget  ???
However I think the first fellow's ears are less prominent, and the noses differ slightly.  Hard to tell with the low-res images.  Hopefully skyetrekker will be able to give us a nice big fat high-res scan which will help!  ;D

Unfortunately, all I was given was a jpg of the original photos  :(  The originals are kept under lock and key by another relative.  Both photos were in one locket which makes me think the two were the grandsons of "Sarah" who died in 1924 as an old lady.  I had originally thought they were her brothers but her brothers would have been too old for those photos as would be her sons and daughters.

Im still looking for more clues now.
