My GGGrandfather Henry Simpson was born in France abt 1859 but is listed on the census as a British subject.
Where can I get a copy of his birth certificate?
Thanks Dizzy

I'd be very interested to know this, as I also have a British Subject relative born in France in the 1800's - would this have just been while away on travels, or maybe stationed abroad in a military family?

Hi
There is a set of microfiche on BDM's abroad which deals with British subjects.
I used it at the the State Lib in Victoria Aus, when trying to find a death in India.
So I would imagine LDS or a similar Family History Soc would have a copy of it.
regards
Genni

You can do this search at
www.1837online.com
; you would need to pay a fee for access. I think, but am not certain, that after you get that information, you can order a certificate in the usual way from the GRO.
