ELECTORAL ROLE - 1969
« on: Tuesday 14 November 06 16:44 GMT (UK) »
Are there any sites that you are aware of that would give me details of say between 1950-1970 Electoral Role for the London area.

Any advise would be appreciated

Not sure if that will be in the truly open public domain because of data protection issues. You can opt now for your name not to appear on the publicly available electoral roll, which is something that quite a few people do.

My recollection is that past electoral rolls are able to be consulted, but in person at the appropriate location. Try googling 'familia' followed by the name of the suburb of interest and it should tell you where the rolls are kept and how to consult them.
E Yorks - Carver, Steels, Cross, Maltby, Whiting, Moor, Laybourn
W Yorks - Wilkinson, Kershaw, Rawnsley, Shaw
Norfolk - Carver, Dowson
Cheshire - Berry, Cooper
Lincs - Berry
London/Ireland/Scotland/Lincs - Sullivan
Northumberland/Durham - Nicholson, Cuthbert, Turner, Robertson
Berks - May
Beds - Brownell

HI there

The electoral rolls are not available online anywhere for as recent as that.

But if you tell us the area and/or address,I'm sure one of us would be able to suggest a local library where they can be looked at in person.

If you cannot do that yourself- maybe a kind Rootschatter can? Or it has been known for a few libraries to do a one or two year look up for free. ;D
Yes even in London  :P if they're not TOooooo busy.

Good luck
