Death in Birkhill Angus

Hi , Can anyone help me to find the death of my G.Granny.  Her name was Catherine Carmichael Strachan nee Stratton. She went to stay with a Mrs Brown in Birkhill in October 1905.at the age of 52. I have no more information on her. I would appreciate any help as I am at a dead end!

Found the death... She died March 13th 1920 aged 66 years at 5.30 am ... the widow of James Strachan (a general Labourer) the daughter of William Stratton (a Jute Mill Overseer) and Isabella Stratton nee Bisset.  Cause of death was Senile Decay 3 years and Heart disease 3 years... she was living in Dundee district asylum 32 Lillybank Road, Dundee

Hi Forbes and Joshua,
I am the great grand-daughter of David Lamont who, I think, may be the brother of John Lamont.
I am not sure about the Dundee Asylum being in Lilybank Road, Dundee but I do know the Lamonts lived around that area.
My great grandfather was the son of Isabella Lownie, if that helps.

Hi my gt grandfather John Thomson Lamont married a Jemima Starchan around 1902 and then had 4/5 daughters (not exactly sure) one of which was a Christina Burness Gourlay Lamont. She was born 1908 and died in 1989. Christina was my grandmother however I never met her as she gave birth to my father out of wedlock and gave him up on birth, his father was not named on the birthe certificate. John Thomson's Lamont's parents were a Grace McFarlane and a Charles Lamont.

I have a tree on Genes Reunited although I am not a member at the moment. Does this ring any bells or confirm whether we are related.

Hi Joshua,
Sorry that you didn't have contact with your grandmother It must have been hard for her to give up her baby and sad for your father.
I think I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 16!  As far as I know there are no Charles Lamonts in my family tree.   I did have a Genes Reunited membership but have given up on it. Perhaps we have a distant relationship?
