Lucky me
« on: Thursday 09 November 06 04:21 GMT (UK) »
I am so glad I found this site and one of the things that make it even better is that topics don't die off during the week, which means there are 'older people' on this site so you can be sure there is something of interest whenever you want to sign on.
I was on a football site in Western Australia and they did a poll on ages of the members of that site... It went from 15 to over 56 and when I indicated that I was over 56, one rude youngster of about 17 wanted to know what  the 'old bag' was doing on the site.
Nevertheless, even though my football team did win the Grand Final this year, I haven't felt the same and rarely go to the website anymore, which is a shame as there were some good things on the site.

Hi Bev,

from another Aussie, cheeky little brat wasn't he?

There are no age-related issues on this site, in fact everyone is really great towards each other, and it is a wonderful place to be!  Welcome, and I hope you enjoy it and make lots of progress with your family history!!

I endorse Marie's comments.

Genealogy is an area where age is positively an asset and you will have to wait a while before you reach the age of some of our members!  We also have youngsters and some who joined in their early teens and are still with us years later.

Not to say that some of us are not cheeky!!  ;D  But hopefully in the right place and at the right time!

Glad you are having fun Bev, long may it last.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

That's awful isn't it?  Some people just seem to get satisfaction out of offending others.  Do they think it's clever?  ???

You won't find anyone like that here Bev.

Welcome to RC  you'll have lots of fun here - not sure we can help with the footie though  :(

Bev, you should have replied to the 'Brat' by saying he was still young enough to have his nappy pulled down and his bum smacked by his Mummy, and this old bag knows more about football than he ever would, so stick that on your dummy and suck it.

Of course we're not rude on this site  ::)  We don't tolerate it either.

Kind regards
Su

Bev

You know all those sayings about the pot calling the kettle black, people in glass houses throwing stones, judging others by your own standards, etc??  Barbara is a living breathing embodiment of all of them!!!  ::) ::)  We love her though, despite it all!!  ;D ;D ;D

Hey Bev - what are you doing on this site - aren't you a bit young?   ;D

Actually I'm 4 years younger than you.....
Welcome on board - the people on this site are just the nicest you could wish to meet.
I am researching the following families:
Hurst / Payne - Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Worcestershire
Toon(e) - Leicestershire
Batchelor / Foster - Warwickshire / Northamptonshire
Hardy - Dorset

My web site has the family tree showing.  I am researching primarily the Payne, Hurst, Foster and Batchelor lines in the Midlands.
