Skeates, Medal Card

Wonder if some one can help please.
I am in search for the Medal card of Arthur Skeates/Skeats who was a Cpl in the RGA.
His father was also Arthur Skeates/Skeats a Sgt in the RGA.
Both were serving at the same time.

WOW! That was quick,
I am pretty sure that http://www.rootschat.com/links/0we/  Arthur L Skeats is one, not sure as to the other, as it was pretty certain one was Cpl the other Sgt serving at the same time, however it will be worth pursuing both.

Would you know if i would gain any more information by obtaining the Image, and would there be a listing before 1914, as it is indicated that Arthur senior joined up some yrs previous 1911.
Also both survived the wars.

You will get medals awarded and the full medal roll references (which can be checked at the National Archives, Kew) and may get date of entry into the war.  Sometimes a bit more but no guarantee.

They won't show any service prior to 1914 but one of the guys on here may be able to tell you something more from their numbers and, if you do decide to download them, anything on the medal cards.

BS,the one who was a serjeant could have been a acting serjeant or a lance serjeant,a lance sgt is a corporal who is waiting for the next available sgts vacancy to come up,he would be allowed to wear 3 stripes but he would still be paid corporals pay,i think cas has found your men,mack

Arthur L Skeats served in both wars, WWI & WWII, if he continued his service yrs right through,  would he take the same service number, would you think ?

This really has put some meat on the bones.

you will get both cards for the price of one,they will be on the same sheet.
if he did serve right through,then its possible he kept the same number,his ww2 service record will tell you what his number was,mack

The issue of Army Numbers was change in 1922, so No he will not have the same number in WW1 & WW2. Also if he did serve in WW2, the MOD will still have his service records, here:
