The y-DNA Haplogroup is of the patriarch group R1a (wikipedia has lots of accurate info about the early fathers of a male line) but in the last few hundred years we have had match which would links two surnames of at least one branch of the male Kidd family with a line having the name Leeming.
The thing that adds to the genetics is the two surnames being together in one place and having been talked about together as both living in the same place and the names having similar meanings (according to them)
