I have not added any opinions yet, but one keeps wanting to be screamed at the top of my lungs. Why didn't anyone contact family when he became ill? Why weren't the names and contact information of his family given to the court or the hospital? Why did Flora give RSKs birth place incorrectly, when she clearly knew his place of birth?

I was thrilled to see that the Museum of Wisconsin Art, MOWA, added the link for his facebook page to their page for him online. Unfortunately the link appears not to work, but they have helped to unite the two parts of his life to see the whole person and artist by adding the link, so I thank them very much.

BYW the man who took photos of the EDT graves, sent me a message on FAG that the cemetery had been cleaned up and the side of the stone had gold lettering with children's names. He said he was going to email all, but has not. I sponsored EDTs memorial and let the volunteer know that he could add many photos there and that I hadn't gotten an email yet but I have not heard from him again, yet. He did add another but hope for the close ups. So "Westoe" just keeps on giving.

Do you mean Mr. Hartmann? He still hasn't added all the inscriptions that are on that stone. I hope that he will someday. The gold lettering will certainly make them easier to read.

Westoe! Wow! I can't remember seeing a notice, but has been a foggy month or so. Wonderful Photo of the monument of our E D and Mary Ann Thompson, ship owner and wife, and all the family. Would you be able to upload this to the findagrave memorial? I see the bottom right of the picture must say "South Shields" but i can't make out the words at the bottom left.

I think Mr Hartman said that the gold lettering was mostly worn off. But I was glad to see the renewed care for the cemetery.

Hello all! Westoe I got a notice today from findagrave that the photo volunteer reported a problem with fulfilling my request for photo of grave or wider area. This was the notice. (Can you advise?)

Greetings from Find A Grave,
We are writing to let you know that a Find A Grave volunteer has reported a problem with your photo request for Joseph Logan.

The general problem they reported is:
Cemetery office has no record of this person

They also reported, specifically:
burials were before cemetery opened

Due to this problem, we believe that this photo request can not be fulfilled. As a result, we are removing it. If you can fix the problems that were reported and believe a photo can be acquired, please feel free to make a new request.

This is for Ann, I have not removed her from the cemetery yet. But I moved Joseph so findagrave would not themselves.

Hmmm??? That's a puzzlement. Was the photo volunteer in the right cemetery? Because both Joseph and Ann are definitely in the cemetery burials register.

I am away from home at present so cannot look at the actual images today. When I can, I will look and write again.

Thank you Westoe! Please check, this person seems to be certain and we will need something to offer. I would not expect stones but at least wider area photos. But please check Ann's memorial when you can and see if the cemetery name and location is correct.

I had a little time tonight, so even without my books, I've tried to call it up from scratch for you.

There is really nothing to photograph. Tynemouth General Cemetery opened in 1833 on Rosella Place, North Shields/Tynemouth. Rosella Place is now long since gone.

That cemetery closed in 1936 and the gravestones were cleared away. (So much for "Perpetual Care" huh?)

As near as I can make out, the space that was occupied by the cemetery is now a little park at the corner of Albion Road and Brightman Road, North Shields.  You can see it and grab your own screen capture off Google Maps streetview.

where you can look at two maps side-by-side - an old one and a modern one. Zooming in on either of them zooms both of them.

Start on the modern map from the intersection of the River Tyne and the North Sea. Tynemouth Road is shown in pink. Drag the modern map to the right and follow Tynemouth Road westward until it turns into Albion Road. Brightman Road and Cecil Street are visible as side streets which meet at Albion Road. Zoom way in keeping that intersection at the centre of the screen. I *think* that treed lot was it.
