Hello rhubarb,

I looked at the extracts for Griffith's Valuation on John Hayes failteromhat.com website. The Valuation took place in Co. Derry in 1858-59 Devenney wasn't there but a variation
in the spelling Devenny was listed. However the only parishes where this name appeared were Cumber Lower, Faughanvale and Templemore.

Welcome to Rootschat. Doe you have any idea where in Co. Londonderry your family lived? or any idea of names and dates?

I have details for most of the Devennies 'south of Coleraine' which is why I asked islamatt for the location of his family.

Good Morning, sorry for not getting back to anyone.
I have no clue about my family whatsoever My grandad was born here in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland in 1907/08 I don't know when his family came over,  his Name was James Devennie.  My Grandmother's Maiden name was Elizabeth Shannon,  whom i don't know much about either,  both never talked about their family to my mum.  My Grandad's son was in the korean war and died their too,  his name was Robert Devennie.
