Hi Fosbeck,
I haven't forgotten you. I don't think I can add too much to my last email. I had William BRABY (1787) on my notes as the son of Robert & Sarah Jenkins who married in Rudgwick 1777. Robert, being the son of Thomas & Mary Kent. I think I got that information from a pedigree resource on Family Search. My interest being that I was trying to find a male BRABY who settled in the Horsham area (Rudgwick is near Horsham) & Amberley seemed to be the largest concentration of the BRABY name, thinking that this might shed light on my own line of descent which starts with the BRABY name in that area. The name changing to BRAVERY in later years.
I've just received some fiche from Surrey & noted that the name BRABY is listed in the index alongside, BRABY & BREFERY, so you might like to bear that in mind. Another piece of information is that there appeared to be two generations of BRABY in ALFOLD Surrey, a HENRY & Elizabeth (BETTY) who had 7 children, the eldest being HENRY 1771. The parents, Henry & Elizabeth do not appear to have been born in Alfold. Henry, the son, marries a Mary and remains in Alfold, having 12 children. After about 1818 (the burial of Mary wife of Henry junior) there doesn't seem to be anymore mention of BRABY or BRAVERY.
If I find anymore information I'll get in contact. Likewise if you find anything, I would much appreciate hearing from you,
Jane
