Joseph Wells Born in Margate?

I have mixed information about the birth of Joseph Wells, one tells me he was born in 1798, and the other in 1816, but both say he was born  in Margate.
He married Susan Tucker, don't know where or whe(sounds like the song), she was born 1824 and died 1908.
I have information about them and their children etc, but nothing about his birth.
I would be so greatful to have something to go on.

Where does the information that Joseph was born in Margate come from

According to the 1851 census entry in answer to another of your posts, he was born in London

There is a marriage for Joseph WELLS to Susan Matilda Catherine TUCKER at St Mary Lambeth 25 Feb 1844 http://www.familysearch.org - would that be it?  If so, a copy of the marriage certificate would (hopefully) give some further details on the fathers etc.
