I am trying to find the following person in either the 1861 or 18871 census:

Name:  Margaret A Pendleton 
Birth:  1856 in Windy Nook, Gateshead 

She married Charles Lynn prior to 1882.  I can find them on the census forms after they got married but can find no trace of Margaret before they were married.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Do you have Margarets father's christian name from her marriage cert to Charles?
